Dr. Mark Dworsky’s journey into optometry began on the baseball field. As a dedicated high school athlete, he was introduced to vision-training tools used by the New York Yankees organization, sparking his curiosity about the critical role vision plays in elite performance. This early fascination evolved into a deeper appreciation for how vision shapes not just sports performance, but learning, work, safety, and overall quality of life.

Dr. Leeann Choe discovered her passion for ocular healthcare while studying Microbiology at UT Austin. Through vision screenings at Prevent Blindness of America and volunteering at Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic in 1999, she developed a deep commitment to eye health and accessibility. One of her most memorable experiences was participating in a medical mission trip to Haiti during optometry school, providing care to those in need.

This personal experience transformed how she approaches patient care, driving her commitment to maximizing functional vision beyond just 20/20 letters.

Dr. LaCount loves to write and does so frequently when she’s not seeing patients. She spends as much time as possible with her standard poodle, Sassy, who you might see assisting in the reception area with patient care and comfort. Her favorite aspect of practice is patient education—she’s passionate about giving patients a different way to think about how they see the world and dispelling common misunderstandings about eyes and vision.
